What AffectionPlus is
An information site about life as a couple, in French, English and German. It follows a single line — meeting, living together, marrying, starting a family, separating — and covers what attaches to it: health, sexuality, family law and, for what it is worth, astrology.
It now has more than two thousand seven hundred pages, of which around eight hundred are country pages. That is the site's main editorial choice: a general article states only what is true everywhere, and anything that depends on a country — a legal age, a deadline, a reimbursement, an emergency number — lives in a separate page. Mixing the two produces text that is wrong for most readers.
How the pages are written
- Sources come before habits. For health, the recommendations of health authorities and international organisations; for law, the applicable texts and official sites. A figure circulating without an identifiable source is not repeated here.
- What is documented is distinguished from what is custom or opinion. The astrology pages state explicitly that no study establishes what they describe.
- The gap between theory and practice is given. For contraception, typical-use effectiveness matters more than perfect-use effectiveness, and both are shown.
- Every page carries a verification date, at the foot of the page and in the structured data. A page not reviewed for more than a year is flagged by an internal check and updated first.
- Corrections are handled before anything else. A changed law, an outdated figure, a number that no longer works: write to us, it is the most useful message we receive.
Who writes
The site is published by CAPIT (SIREN 422 790 931), the company behind Affection.org, a French-language dating site. We say so wherever it is relevant rather than leaving it to be discovered: it is a real commercial link, and it is why the section on dating platforms states each time what is information and what is our own business.
The writing draws on public sources and, for medical subjects, on review by health professionals close to us. We are neither doctors nor lawyers, and the site is neither a consultation nor personalised legal advice.
How the content is produced: the texts are mainly written by an artificial intelligence — Claude, by Anthropic, in its most advanced version — following CAPIT’s instructions, plan and editorial rules (a general article says only what is true everywhere, everything national goes into a country sheet, every figure has a source). Each page is then proofread by CAPIT’s staff, who check, correct and validate it before publication, and who remain responsible for what is published. The interactive tools — quizzes, compatibility test, calculators — are designed the same way and tested before going live. This way of working makes it possible to keep several thousand pages up to date in seven languages; it takes nothing away from the rule above: we are neither doctors nor lawyers, and a reported error is corrected as a priority.
How the site is funded
By advertising and, at one clearly marked place, by a paid partner link on the page about dating sites. No platform, laboratory or firm has paid to be mentioned anywhere else, and no content on the site is commissioned by a third party. Where an interest exists, it is written into the page, not hidden at the bottom.
What the site does not do
- It does not give medical consultations and does not replace an examination.
- It does not give personalised legal advice and replaces neither a lawyer nor a notary.
- It does not introduce anyone to anyone: it is not a dating service.
- It does not publish sexually explicit content. The Sexuality section is a sexual-health section: it describes, it does not illustrate.
